明けましておめでとうございます。北九州にもうすぐ３年になりますが、旧年を振り返りますと、
○ 仕事面では、
l 地方創生の担当となり、エネルギー・環境分野でローカル・イノベーションを起こし、アジアに都市まるごと輸出するスマートシティづくりを進めました。
l また、10月からは併せて環境監視部長として、出戻りのPCB処理や産業廃棄物対策に加え、公害防止・環境保全、自然共生、環境科学研究を総合的にマネジメントするとともに、今後の環境首都としての環境保全のあり方の検討に着手しました。
l 2016年は北九州での集大成の年として、地方創生や総合的な環境保全に一つの道筋をつけることに全力を尽くしたいと思います。
○ また、プライベートでは、
l 今年も、家族みんなで新しいことにチャレンジし、何事にも滅一杯楽しみたいと思います。
2016年が皆様にとって益々幸せな一年になりますことを心からお祈りします。
Happy new year 2016! It has passed almost 3 years since we moved to Kitakyushu, Japan and looking
back to 2015,

On a business side,
Ø Being in charge of local
revitalization, I have promoted the development of “smart city” to make
innovations in the energy & environmental field and export the whole urban
system to Asia and the other part of the world.
Ø Since last October, also as the
executive director for environmental control and inspection, I have managed not
only PCB disposal
& industrial waste management (as previous charges) but also pollution
prevention & environmental conservation, nature harmonization, and
environmental science & research. In addition, I have launched the
consideration on the ideal environmental policy as the environmental leading
city.
Ø I will do my best to pave the ways
in the fields of local revitalization & comprehensive environmental
conservation in 2016 as the compilation of Kitakyushu.

On a private side,
Ø We have been to Shimane-Mizuho,
Kurokawa
spa & Aso, Ishigaki
& Taketomi islands, Osaka
& Kyoto, Hakata
Yamakasa, Nagasaki-Isahaya
and Yamaguchi-Akiyshidai.
I have also excised playing golf
(as a long way to go) and jogging for the first completion of the full
marathon.
Ø Our daughter Sarah, has firstly
challenged marathon,
skiing,
tree
planting, discharge
of young sweetfish and fishing.
She also has entered
the local kindergarten and participated in the parents’
open day, sports
day, performance
day, mochi-pounding
and X’mas
party.
Ø We all the family would like to
challenge new things and fully enjoy anything this year too.
