謹賀新年 Happy New Year 2015

明けましておめでとうございます。さて、2014年を振り返りますと、
Happy new year 2015! Looking back to 2014,

○　仕事面では、

l  ＰＣＢ処理問題が大きな山を越え、今後の体制強化に取り組んだほか、産業廃棄物処理の高度化を進めるため、実態把握と新たな事業者認定制度を通じた支援に着手しました。

l  夏にはAPECで講演（持続可能な都市化に関する政策対話＠中国・北京）する機会にも恵まれました。

l  総じて、内外で関係を築きながら、環境をテコに地域活性化やまちづくりに関わることができたのは良い経験になりました。本年も地域が少しでも良くなるように、できることに最大限取り組んでいきたいと思います。

-       On a business side,

•    We have got over the PCB disposal issue and been reinforcing the structure to tackle it. Furthermore, in order to promote the upgrade of industrial waste treatment, we have launched understanding of the actual condition and support businesses through the new authorized operator scheme.
•    I have got the opportunity for the presentation at APEC policy dialogue on sustainable urbanization in Beijing, China last summer.
•    Overall, it was a great experience for me to engage in local revitalization and urban development by leverage from environmental policy with building a good relationship both locally and internationally. This year, I will continually do anything I can do to improve the local community.

○　また、プライベートでは、

l  九州一周旅行のほか、山口萩、広島に出かけたほか、市民マラソンに初参加し、ゴルフも特訓しています。

l  娘の沙羅は七五三をはじめ、ボランティア、潮干狩りなど新しい事に挑戦しました。今年は、九州にいられる間にできることは全て経験する気持ちで何事にも臨んでいきたいと思います。

- On a private side,

•    We have traveled around Kyushu as well as Yamaguchi Hagi and Hiroshima. I have also participated in the city marathon for the first time and excised playing golf.
•    My daughter, Sarah, has joined “Shichigosan” festival and challenged something new like volunteering and shellfish gathering. This year, we would like to experience all the things Kyushu offers during our stay here.
